Oregon Trip - Terwilliger Hotsprings
We left Honeyman campgroung and travelled towards Eugene, Oregon and about an hour or so out of Eugene we drove up into the mountains and went to a wilderness Hotsprings. It was absolutely cool. We hiked in about a 1/4 of a mile...
...and then came to these outhouse/changerooms.The hotsprings flow right out of the rocks in the side of the mountain. Along the side of the mountain a cool running creek runs that cools off the water and also provides clean drinking water - all pretty cool.
The water cascades over four different pools and each pool is a different temperature. Boy, did I enjoy those hot pools. It was an amazing afternoon to be right in the middle of the forest with large trees and moss - the smell of the forest was great and then to top it all off we are sitting in hot mineral water.
Terwilliger Hotsprings is a special memory for me. I have always wanted to go to a completely wilderness hotsprings and now I've gone. Check that one off my list of things to do before I turn 100.On Friday evening we headed back to the cabin at Battleground, Washington.
I had to take at least one picture of us at Safeway. We stopped at so many Safeways along the way to pick up our food for almost all our meals. It worked out so well. Here we are waiting for the guys as they went for a cup of coffee - but it sure is taking them a long time. I'll bet David is getting an ice cap.
